Arts in Bartlett is having its first “gala” type fundraiser, the Spring Showcase, on Sunday, April 15, at 3 p.m. in Villa Olivia. Tickets are $40 for adults, $20 for students 6 to 12 and free for those under 6. We hope our members and friends-- and especially families who have students at Arts in Bartlett -- who appreciate the cultural arts opportunities we provide to the community will support this event. It is only through the donation of talents from the performers and artists and the sponsorship of Thrivent Financial that we are able to bring this exceptional event to our community.

Why now? We are an all-volunteer nonprofit arts council now in our 16th year, and like other nonprofits, finances are a constant concern. As some of you know, we have had some unforeseen financial setbacks just as we were just beginning to build up some reserves that were depleted in our buildout of the 215 location three years ago. Sign repair, rent increase, soaring winter heating bills in our all-electric building, new plumbing, reduced grant amounts, 1 of our 2 furnaces we have not been able to fix…the list goes on and on. We have had small monthly fundraisers with events in our community room and dinearounds at local restaurants. We solicited donations to an Arts Booster Fund with our 2018 dues renewals. But it has not been enough to catch up and build a reserve.
